When a new game in the popular Diablo series was announced, it was no surprise that it fast became one of the most anticipated games in ages. The original game came out on PC and a few months later, a Mac version followed. In 1998 there was a Playstation release of it though without any online features. Both of the earlier releases sold millions of copies, won numerous awards and were critically acclaimed, so there is no real surprise that the anticipation for the third game is so overwhelming.
