Gift Wrapping Supplies Storage Solutions
In order to save money on gift wrapping supplies, many people purchase those supplies when they are on sale. After Christmas sales are the perfect time to buy supplies for the next year. You may also find birthday or shower paper on clearance sales at times. In addition, paper left from one use can be stored for the next use. A good storage solution can help you to save money on these supplies.
Paper that is rolled on a tube offers some of the best bargains. This paper allows you to wrap your gift without the preformed creases of folded paper. Rolls of paper are probably the most difficult to store, however. The rolls can easily be knocked over at the end of the closet and smashed by other items in your closet.
There are several ways to store paper in rolls. Two small cords can be thumb tacked across the end of a little used closet, forming storage for the tubes. Another alternative is to find a large plastic storage box that fits under the bed or in the top of the closet for storage. Use a small piece of transparent tape on either end of the roll to secure the rolls so that they do not unroll. Using the tape at the ends and taping it back inside the roll prevents marks in the middle of the roll from tape.
If you purchase folded paper, try hanging it from pants hangers with spring grips. It can then be stored hanging from a closet rod. The paper may fit in a legal sized file folder and store it in the file cabinet. The paper is kept flat without wrinkles when stored in this manner.
Plastic boxes are an excellent choice to store bows. The box prevents crushing and keeps dust off the decorations. If there is something set on the box the bows are protected. Just do not overfill the box to prevent crushing the bows.
Ribbons can also be stored in plastic boxes. If you store your paper in the end of the closet using the thumb tacked cord idea, you could also use a third cord higher in the closet onto which the ribbon spools are threaded. Ribbon can be selected and cut without removing the spool.
Any savings you find on gift wrapping supplies are lost if you do not have a plan for storing the supplies where they will not be damaged. Properly stored supplies can make wrapping any present less frustrating.
