2009 was a year that saw great movies being made. This is evident by the fact that for the first time, the Academy extended the list of nominees to ten for the best picture. Every single movie that was present in the list was good enough to be there.
Out of the many great movies made, the ones mentioned below are my most favorite ones in my own honest opinion.
Hurt Locker has to be the best movie that has been made regarding the subject of the Iraq War. The director of the movie, Kathryn Bigelow, who is coincidentally the ex-wife of some other director who is also present in the list, did an amazing job at showing the story of a man of bomb squad who lives in hostile territory. I don’t have enough words to describe the cinematography of this movie.
If you appreciate the fine movies that are made, then you should not think twice about watching Avatar. While watching the movie, one feels as if he/she has actually entered James Cameron’s imagination.
