The figures of the sitcom Friends
Monica Geller is the neurotic maternal persona of the group of friends that has a powerful obsessive and competitive character. Monica was extremely overweight growing up, which is often showcased within flashbacks, though now she is slim. Her parents feature a great deal in the show and Ross is their favorite child, though her dad Jack makes up for this by giving her their Porsche! She is a chef. Monica marries Chandler Bing on season seven, plus the ultimate series they adopt twin babies and also move to suburbia leaving behind the flat which was the main set of the show.
Chandler Bing is a number bashing professional for a large multi-national company. In the show he quits to work in advertising as a copywriter and become more creative. His mother and father are divorced with his father residing and working as a gay cross-dresser nightclub act Las Vegas. Chandle’sr primary persona trait is his cynical sense of humour. He’s got bad luck in relationships, Janice being a recurring girlfriend. In London he gets together with Monica whom he later marries and becomes a parent with.
Ross Geller is Monica’s geeky older brother, a PH.D palaeontologist working at a museum and then a University in NYC. Ross is involved in an on-again-off-again relationship with Rachel through the entire season, with who he had a childhood crush with. Ross has a few unsuccessful marriages throughout the series: Rachel (married drunk in Vegas), Emily (said Rachel’s name at wedding vows) and Carol (who was gay.) She is also the mother of his son, Ben. He and Rachel have a daughter at the end of season eight, Emma plus in the ultimate episode they get it together for good.
Rachel Green is Monica closest friend from childhood and secondary school. Rachel’s first job is as a waitress in the popular coffeehouse Central Perk. She is a ditzy daddy’s girl. Her interest is fashion and she follows her goal to be an assistant buyer at legendary NYC department store Bloomingdales and later a buyer at Ralph Lauren. Rachel has a small relationship with Joey but her primary love is actually Ross, who she ends up having a baby girl with and finally gets together with at the end of series ten following a job offer in Paris.
Joey Tribbiani is a struggling (bad) actor and food lover with strong Italian heritage he’s a big hit with the ladies, but falls seriously in love with Rachel in series 8. This doesn’t work out and by the end of the show he is still single. Joey turns into popular for his role on famous (and true to life) United states soap opera ‘Days of Our Lives’ as Dr. Drake Ramoray. Joey became a spin-off series from Friends and he move to LA with his sister and nephew.
Phoebe Buffay an weird, hipster masseuse and self-taught musician. A former waif having a colourful history, Phoebe is ditsy yet streetwise, and as a child she robbed Ross! She previously lived with Monica but moved in with her Grannie till her death. Her and Rachel also roomed for a short while. During the last season, Phoeb’s marries Mike Hannigan in the snow outside Central Perk. Her songs is frequently displayed in the show, she writes and sings (badly) her own offbeat tracks, accompanying herself on the acoustic guitar. An excellent twist of Phoebe is her “wicked” identical twin named Ursula.
