It’s not an easy thing to adopt a puppy, not in the way of being unable to come by a cute and adorable puppy that will fit into your lifestyle, but because to adopt a puppy means that you will necessarily need to adjust your life to fit the puppy.
Catering to your new puppy’s needs would require you to implement some changes in your lifestyle. Since the puppy has just suffered a separation from everything that he knows till now, it would be required from you to spend some time close to him and provide him with love, care and affection.
Another thing that you must be willing to devote some time to when you adopt a puppy is housetraining. Or if you think that you don’t have the time for this, then you should be willing to send your puppy to kindergarten for dogs. But before all this done, you should have an idea what would your cute puppy be like when he is all grown up.
Well right now you would wonder, what does it matter what the dog looks like when its grown up into a adult? Well having this kind of an attitude can get you into a little trouble as different kinds of dogs have different temperaments. Some puppies enjoy company of all kinds of people. Other puppies may simply attach themselves to a single person.
Some dogs eat everything they are given and will devour even the stuff you never thought about placing in front of them whereas other dogs may be pickier. Adopting a puppy essentially means that you are getting a small animal in your life and that animal is going to be totally dependent on you. But this is not going to stop your puppy from maturing into an adult dog with a mind of its own.
Therefore the first thing to do before adopting a puppy is giving a thought to what the puppy would look like in the future. This would help you to determine the amount of space needed by the dog whether it’s indoors or outdoors. Also it is necessary to find out if your puppy is happier doing an outdoor task likewise in the case of Alsatians or Dobermans. These dogs are quite large in size and generally suited to protecting your home and property.
After you gain an idea regarding the temperament of a puppy, it is advised to find out the amount of money you can spend on your puppy’s basic needs such as food, toys, veterinary trips, discipline and medicine. The physical, mental and emotional health of your puppy is dependent on these items. Of course thinking about all these things should not prove to be a hindrance for your desire to get a puppy as a companion.
You should however be prepared for how much your life will change when you adopt a puppy. This cute bundle of mischief has the ability of bringing joy and laughter into your life.

It might sound odd when you think about it, but with so many cross bred dogs pooping up - both intentional and unintentional - there’s really nothing incredible about a Yorkie Bichon mix dog cropping up over time. What this means for potential dog owners, is something completely different of course.
If you are planning to get a Yorkie Bichon as a pet but are not really sure whether you really need a dog like this, and more importantly unsure what the puppy would become when it has all grown up, then there’s only one thing to say that you are not the only one having this doubt. It is a well known fact that no one can really predict what a mixed breed dog would grow up to be like and this is surely true for all mixed or cross bred dogs.
To say the least, the mixed breed puppy may turn out to be predominantly like the Bichon father/mother or like the Yorkie mother/father. The parents of a Yorkie Bichon mix do not have to of a specific breed, as in the case of a Puggle, for it to be called a purebred, i.e. you do not need to have a Yorkie father or a Bichon Frise mother, or vice versa combination to call it a pure breed. It can be a mix of either and still be called a pure bred.
And this is why it sometimes becomes tricky when one is breeding a mixed breed dog. This is because of the fact that no dog breeder has the entire lineage of a dog breed going back hundreds of years, so it can be very difficult to be certain whether the ancestors of the dog have been cross bred at any point in time. There might be a very few genetic traits that might have been lying dormant and just manifest themselves at the time of cross breeding of the dogs.
The resulting dog may be a hodgepodge of characteristics or can be a sweet and cute dog. However this type of scenario is quite rare in good breeding programs, and in case you with to have a Yorkie Bichon mix as a pet you would surely be able to get a good Yorkie Bichon combination.
What would be the characteristics of this kind of a dog, never mind the features of such a dog? Well, unfortunately there is no way through which you can tell these beforehand, and most of the dog owners would just have to wait and see what their Yorkie Bichon Puppy grows up into; a predominantly Bichon mix or a predominantly Yorkie mix. Whatever be the case, one thing that you can be assured of is that you would be the proud owner of a dog that is very loyal to you and is also very cute and adorable, what else do you want for yourself?

Have you ever wondered from where do those lovely pets in pet stores come from? Well, a very few of them might have come from unknown locations, and a few might have got there from the Nina, the Pinta and the Santa Maria, but most the pets that you saw in that store come from various different pet breeders across the nation.
The pet breeders are people who breed certain types of pets and make this work their life. The value of a certain type of pet tends to go up if the breeder breeds only that type of pet or specifically breeds a certain type of pet breed. Specialist breeders who breed only a single pet breed are of course the better breeders.
If you are currently looking for a pet, then a pet store is the easiest option for you, but it is necessary that you do a little bit of investigation of your intended pet’s background before proceeding further. What is the pet’s lineage; what kind of diseases can affect it; does it have any kind of genetic flaws; and most importantly where did it come from?
To gain a clearer picture of the situation and to help you make your decision it is advised that you should ask all these questions before buying a pet from a pet store. The last question, where does the pet you are going to own comes from, is the most important question as it can help you to identify a pet mills.
In these places, animals are churned out like in factory and the pets have no proper care. They aren’t ill treated physically, although some can be, instead they are ill treated in the manner in which they are forced to live. This is why it’s always a good idea to check up on where your pet came from, and whether it came from suitable pet breeders, or pet breeders without a conscience who only care about the last dollar.
Not all pet breeders are like that of course. Most love their pets, and breed them only with the best care and attention given to them. These pets live in humane conditions, and enjoy a good life.
However, if you are thinking of getting a pet straight from a pet breeder rather than a pet store, then this a wonderful opportunity for you to choose a good pet for yourself. In a situation like this you can ask the pet breeder to give you a tour of his facility and this can surely help you in getting more information on the breeder.
In this day and age it’s not so difficult to find the information you need, and a little judicious hunting around can help you to find pet breeders who are known and respected in the pet breeding community, and who provide their pets with only the best care.

You have never thought about what type of dog you need, and the only thing that is running through your mid is the four legged cutie that your neighbor has bought. The yellow Labrador that you saw today at the pet store is still fresh in your memory asking you to give him a home, and you barely have the power to resist the temptation and go get it from the store.
You want to get a dog for yourself and now that idea is slowly taking you over, and it seems that you really want a dog now! However it is that you have heard so many stories about dog owners not being able to adjust according to the needs to their dogs, and heartening stories where the dogs are abandoned that you need to think twice before getting a dog for yourself.
However since you really want the yellow Lab puppy, you decide to take a break and investigate a little bit about the Labrador breed of dog. This is done in order to ensure that you have a little idea about how to take care of your new Lab puppy, and what can be expected back from the puppy as it grows up into an adult dog.
The first and the foremost thing that you need to know is that most of the dogs have a long life expectancy and the Labrador breed is known to live for 12-13 years, and this figure is highly variable, there have been cases when the dog has been alive for 18-19 years. This of course may not be the norm, but the thing is that owning a dog is lifetime commitment and you just cannot back down when you feel like. You also need to understand that your dog is your responsibility and you cannot treat it carelessly or abandon it.
Having gotten that out of the way, you can then go on to look at the various characteristics that you can expect in your yellow Lab puppy. These can be wide ranging, but most commonly you will find that Labradors are a very intelligent breed. They are very trainable and they have a gentle temperament. This makes them ideal companions for handicapped people, and many Labradors are taken for this purpose.
Families having young children can also look up to having a Labrador as they are very well natured. They may become sedentary if they are not exercised, taken for walks or are overfed, and this is the last thing that you would want to happen to your highly energetic and playful Labrador.
Play with your yellow Lab puppy, exercise it thoroughly and also make sure to shower it with loving care and attention and you can be assured that for years to come you will be awarded for your attentions.

Finding a good that also suits your needs isn’t always easy. Most people will impulsively get the first dog that strikes a chord in their heart, while some people prefer to do their research and find out all about potential dogs they can get. If you’re interested in something like a toy Manchester Terrier for instance there are a few things that you would want to learn about it first.
The first and the foremost thing that you should understand is that the Manchester Terrier comes in two different varieties, the Toy and the Standard Manchester Terrier variety. Both varieties of this dog are somewhat similar to each other except for the difference in their size.
For example, the toy Manchester Terrier variety generally weighs in between 6-12 pounds whereas the standard Manchester Terrier weights between 16-19 pounds. The marked difference in the height of the two varieties is reflected by the lack of inches in the toy Manchester Terrier variety. The toy Manchester Terriers grow to a height of 10-12 inches whereas the standard variety grows about 15-17 inches in height.
Both types of Manchester Terrier are highly intelligent ad both make loyal companions. Unlike the standard Manchester Terrier however, the toy Manchester Terrier is not necessarily used for the hunting skills it possesses. Having said that, whether you get the standard Manchester Terrier or whether you get the toy Manchester Terrier these days the last thing that people do will be to use them to hunt, be it the rats they were bred specifically to hunt, or anything else.
These dogs are primarily used as companion dogs or competitive dogs. These dogs are highly intelligent and can be trained if this is taken of at a very early age. Otherwise both the toy Manchester Terrier and the standard Manchester Terrier have been to known to be willful and sometimes to not listen to its owner. A firm hand is a must when training your Manchester Terrier.
Having children, especially young children, is another factor that you should keep in mind while getting either a toy or a standard Manchester Terrier. You will want to be very careful while the dog is near children as the dogs may become very aggressive if the aggression has not been bred out of them or trained out of them at an early age.
Also another thing is that Manchester Terriers are generally bred to hunt down and kill rats and rodents, so if you have any gerbils, mice or hamsters as pets then you may want to consider getting some other dog or say goodbye to your rodent pet. Although it is possible to keep your Manchester Terrier with small animals, if you have trained your puppy from the beginning, it is generally advised not to put so much trust in training as you are practically competing with instincts. The best way to avoid such a situation is to get the temptation out of the way.
