Of the few great actors found in Hollywood, like Leonardo Di Caprio or Johnny Depp, one can also mention Daniel Lewis. He tops the above actors, for sure. Another great actor is Christian Bale who has been overlooked for a long time.

To show you Bale’s versatility I will comment on some of his latest work:

Of the two Batman’s movies starred by Christian Bale the sequel to Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, is by far a better movie than its predecessor.

Christian Bale, Hugh Jackman, Scarlett Johansson, Michael Caine, Piper Perabo get together this time to give us the thriller The Prestige. Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman play rival magicians who were once friends. Bale outperforms Jackman, for sure.

The fictional story of Trevor Reznik is depicted in The Machinist. Trevor’s a machinist who hasn’t slept in over a year. Working in a machine shop he faces all types of occupational hazards and due to his extreme fatigue causes him to accidentally cut off a co-worker’s hand. For this film Bale lost more than 70 pounds of weight, and it shows in the movie.

Justin Theroux, Josh Lucas meet Christian Bale in the movie An American Psycho, a movie based in the book of the same name by Bret Easton Ellis. In it, Bateman is a wealthy New York investment banking executive with a psychopathic ego.

Director Werner Herzog directed Rescue Dawn a movie based on a US pilot’s real story when his plane was shot down over the Laos jungle during the Vietnam World. Christian Bale had to lose a lot of weight for this movie.

3:10 of Yuma gives Bale the opportunity to show another side of his acting career. Together with Russell Crow they star in this western movie. Here, Bale’s performance is outstanding.

Some Of The Best Motion Pictures That Starred Christian Bale

Oscars have always done a fair and good job of encouraging actors for doing a job worth recognition of any sort. However, they have always missed out on one great actor, which should have been acknowledged a long time ago; Christian Bale.

His versatility and diversity finally gave him his well deserved break in the movie The Batman Begins, which he had a huge role in. The movies mentioned further are examples of some of the brilliant work that has been done by him to date. All of these showed off his vast skill set in a varieties of ways.

You can’t be American if you yet have to see the Dark Knight. This is one movie which was extremely popular and brought along great hype, and did a great job at fulfilling people’s expectations in more ways than one. The quality of the movie and box office reviews, both contributed to its success both financially and critically. It was considered as an absolute work of art; however the fact that it did not get nominated was a huge disappointment to many.

To people’s delight, Bale was back with yet another movie with the director Christopher Nolan, the Prestige. Even though, this movie had a lot of great actors included in it, Bale managed to get his presence felt more than anyone else and was appreciated by doing a wonderful job as a magician, with some deep, dark secrets.

The greatness of an actor can be witnessed by how he actually brings about changes in himself to fit in the role each time a new movie is made with them in it. For example being 130 pounds for the movie The Machinist and 210 pounds for another movie soon after, the Batman Begins. That takes a ton of dedication to your work, something that few others have been able to handle with such precision.

If you have seen American Psycho, you must be aware about the excellent performance of Bale, who plays the character of a seemingly normal resident of New York, who is actually psycho and does awful things to things and people. It’s hard to hate him even in a character of this sort. When you look at how well he portrays such a crazy person, he once again shines.

Another masterpiece was Rescue Dawn by Werner Herzog, in which Bale played the role of a US pilot who got imprisoned during the time of the Vietnam War. In order to get out of the prison, he plans to run away into the jungle of Laos. Even for this movie he lost a lot of weight.

It won’t be fair not to discuss 3:10 to Yuma while mentioning the great work of Bale, as he made yet another mesmerizing performance in this one. It’s hard to find good westerners like Bale and Crowe these days, but we are lucky to have them. It becomes more and more apparent that there is very little this man cannot do when it comes to acting.

Some Of My Personal Favorite Movies In Year 2009

Almost 300 movies released this year 2009, and most of the movies are good, and they released in the format of DVD. However, the straight released movies collected so much revenue and most of them are battled for the best picture award giving by the academy. So, the academy decided to increase the nominations for the best picture entry. Most of the directors and producers around the world are dreaming about the place in that list.

Even though so many films released in the year 2009, here I am giving few of them, which won the positive reviews of film critics as well.

Most of the film critic’s choice for this year 2009 is the “Hurt Locker movie. The movie is a realistic one and story is purely about the Iraqi War, and this epic was designed and created by Kathryn Bigelow, who is an ex-wife of famous director James Cameron.

This is also like that, the computer graphics used in this film is so good, and it will give justice to the director imaginations.

After that, there is no choice for the second position because the ultimate movie avatar is really a smash hit at the box office. This movie collected excellent revenue in different countries and placed at top ten positions in the favorite list. It is one of the unbelievable movies, and the director James Cameron created a master piece for next generations as well.

Even though these two movies are in the list, my ultimate choice is to the movie District 9, this is my favorite movie this year 2009.

However, both movies that above-mentioned are all time favorites, still there is a chance to build a list with the exceptional movie District 9.

Even though the star casting of this film is new to screen, the director Neil Blompkamp blown away the critic’s expectations. Every year there are many actions movies are releasing and most of them are not reaching the expectations. However, this movie District9 is an ultimate and the production cost of the film is less than twenty million.

The next and the most popular role played by Dafoe is green goblin in spider man. It is one of the great roles that every actor would like to play. With this dream character, the super hero stories have been introduced, and it is become a kick start for golden era in Hollywood. And the Dafoe has become the perfect role for that goblin character.

Apart from this, the war epic film Platoon is directed by Oliver stone is nominated for academy awards. The character played by the Dafoe has won the film critic’s applause.

The role of Patrick Bateman is excellently done by Bale, acting in the role character of American Psycho. He plays the part of the psycho New York bank executive in the 80s. It is a magnificent performance.

In the year 2008 there were many classy films such as Rescue Dawn directed by Werner Herzog to mention a few names just in case you missed the best. The story line is of an American fighter pilot who is shot during the war in Laos. The best actors in this movie are Steve Zahn and Bale who are both very big names in the film Hollywood. So if they had to take the step to reduce weight for the sake of their respective roles in the movie is quite outstanding.

His most memorable performance is seen in 3:10 to Yuma together with Russell Crowe. This, as it ended up, was a very new role for Bale as he had to act the cowboy in a desert. Who would have thought that John Foster would shine in this movie?
